ABOUT THE STUDIO

JTR Studio is the archive of my father, Jonathan T. Raup (1962-2020). He was self-taught and worked for about fifty years in sumi-e ink, charcoal, pen, and pencil. He also wrote poetry and practiced Buddhism. He gave his work away freely and never exhibited it in his lifetime.

“This is how I live on, through other people,” he said as he handed out more of his artwork freely.

JTR Studio collects, scans, and catalogues that work so it can be preserved and seen. The first exhibit opened at Strobe Space in July 2026.

JTR Studio will hold an exhibit of newly discovered artwork in Glen Park on November 22nd.
Doors open at 6:30pm, in collaboration with Bello Coffee.
